Designed for children five and younger with their caregivers, PEM Pals combines a book reading with movement, music, art, and hands-on activities. This month’s program features My First Book of Fancy Letters and connects with the museum’s printing exhibition.

Saturday, September 5 · Slime Potion Brewing in Salem

10 a.m.–noon at The Lost Library, 282 Derby Street. Children can create customized slime potions using colors, glitter, charms, and other decorative mix-ins. Destination Salem lists the activity as family-friendly and open to all ages.

6–7 p.m. at the Peabody Institute Library, 15 Sylvan Street. Parents of children in kindergarten through fifth grade can meet the local Cubmaster and learn about the Danvers Cub Scouts’ 2026–2027 program.

Tuesday, September 8 · Salem Village Song Circle

7–8:30 p.m. at the Peabody Institute Library, 15 Sylvan Street in Danvers. Community members can sing, lead a song, listen, or harmonize in a relaxed and supportive setting. No registration is listed as required.

Tuesday, September 8 · Downtown Beverly Cleanup

3:30 p.m. at Beverly Public Library, 32 Essex Street. Teens in grades six through twelve can help clean up downtown Beverly, earn volunteer hours, and enjoy pizza afterward. Supplies are provided. The program may be canceled in bad weather.
